This statement was stated by the General Manager of International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai – Bali, Handy Heryudhitiawan. Handy said that in November, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport’s traffic was quite congested.

“As of November, we have served 3,790,404 international travelers and 7,087,273 domestic travelers. Overall, the number was 10,877,677 passengers,” he said.

“In November I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali served 674,041 domestic passengers and 634,783 international passengers. Overall serving 1,308,824 passengers. In addition, there were 9,836 aircraft movements during November. This amount includes the arrival and departure of State Guests and the G20 Summit participants who attended on the island of Bali,” Handy continued.

Currently I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali may serve 21 domestic flight routes, served by 11 Airlines. For international routes, currently I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali may serve 24 international flight routes to 14 countries, served by 27 airlines.

“In November, there was one airline that resumed operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, namely Cathay Pacific with the Hong Kong – Denpasar – Hong Kong route,” added Handy.

For domestic flights, the route with the highest traffic was from Jakarta with 408,464 passengers. Followed by Surabaya with 83,961 passengers, and Makassar with 40,292 passengers.

“As for international flights, it is still dominated by flights from Australia which may serve as many as 194,210 passengers. Followed by Singapore with 162,328 passengers and Malaysia with 83,448 passengers. The foreigners with the highest number of arrivals on the island of Bali in November were Australian foreigners with 75,586 registered people, Indian foreigners with 26,488 registered people, and Singaporean foreigners with 21,806 people,” said Handy.

“We are optimistic that I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali will meet the target of serving 12 million passengers in 2022. We, therefore, can estimate that the number of air travelers during the Christmas and New Year 2023 periods will be fairly high . In addition, there are plans for additional routes by several airlines if that is realized then it will arise further trigger for passenger growth at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport,” concluded Handy.
